ROTARACT CLUB

April started with the main event of the year, the Hagley Rotaract Barn Dance. The event was a great success with brilliant music from the ‘Stone the Crows’, gorgeous food from ‘Our Plaice” Hagley fish and chip shop and a lively atmosphere. The best part was all this fun equalled money raised for our charity: Cancer Research UK. April continued on this high with a successful day helping with the collection in Stourbridge on RLNI Flag Day. Then a few of our members went to the National Rotaract Conference at Bowness, Lake Windermere, where we had an enjoyable weekend with other like-minded people. On the 19th we had another joint Skittles evening with Hagley Rotary where this time we decided to mix the teams rather than increase our competitive streak.

May starts with a narrow boat weekend traversing the locks around Worcester/Droitwich. Then on the 13th many of the club will be supporting Leamington and Warwick Rotaract’s Dinner Dance. On the 20th we have organised a purely educational trip to the Quatt Cider Museum, combining it with a walk in the Shropshire countryside.

We have moved meeting venue to the Lyttleton Arms, Hagley. So our usual 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month will be there, starting at 8.00 p.m.. If anybody is interested in coming to a meeting or an event, please contact Stephen Murphy on 01384 74088.
