RUACH KARATE CLUB
True Karate is this:- In all things a man must have a clear mind – in daily life one’s mind and body be trained and developed in a spirit of humility and in critical times be devoted utterly to the cause of justice. Just as a clear mirror reflects without distortion, so must one who would study karate purge himself of selfish and evil thoughts for only with a clear mind and conscience can he understand that which he receives.
True Karate srives internally to train the mind to develop a clear conscience enabling one to face the world truthfully while externally developing strength. An insight into this art, a mastery of its techniques, a polishing of the virtues of courage, courtesy, integrity, humility and self-control make them the inner light to guide one’s daily actions. I consider Karate to be the most suitable of the martial arts in leading to fulfilment of the spirit.
The one “spiritual teaching” that stands out in my mind is “all katas or fighting sequences begin with a block to indicate the peaceful intention of the martial arts”. If you need a challenge, want to learn a sport and gain “spirit”, we hope to see you at Haybridge High School on a Monday night at 7.00 p.m. or Crystal Leisure Centre Stourbridge at 10 o’clock on a Saturday morning. Everybody and all ages are welcome!
