Current news from Hagley & Stourbridge Beekeepers' Association

Well, all the beehives have been fed until they are very heavy and that's the end of the 2023 beekeeping season, the 2024 season starts in about March next year.
The end of the season doesn't mean that the beekeeper does nothing; managing ten hives is a whole day's work every week of the year, so while the workload is reduced there's always a job to do.
Once a month you visit the apiary and check if everything is as you left it. There's hives to make or repair, frames to make-up, queen excluders to clean and lots of reading to do.
