Current news from Hagley WI
We are thrilled to have had our first face to face get together – a lunch outside at the Garden Tea Rooms, Great Witley where we were very well looked after - and the sun shone. It was so special to be meeting in person after more than 15 months and, by the time you read this, we hope to have gathered again for a Garden Party in August.
With the Community Centre now open, our first meeting is planned for Monday 13 September at 2.00 pm. It will be our belated Annual Meeting looking back over a challenging year and a talk - The History of a Garden.
There is a full programme arranged for the coming year including a Drumming Workshop and talks about ‘The Most Dissolute Man in London’, ‘The Dialect of the Clee Hills’ and ‘The 1950s – the Optimistic Decade’...and we are planning our Centenary celebrations. However – as I write this in July, these are still uncertain times - regulations and restrictions can change, often at very short notice.
If you would like to join any of these events, do check first. Have a look at our Noticeboard by the Pharmacy - see our future plans and if you’re looking for something new, why not give the WI a try? We meet monthly on the second Monday at 2.00 pm in the Community Centre.
