The Rotary Club of Hagley continued the Rotary Year with a weekly meeting at the Blakedown and Churchill Golf Club and a full program. Stuart Tatham one of our new members gave a stunning presentation on the activities of Syber Crime and how important it was to be aware of the latest tricks and pranks the less scrupulous computer practitioners can be. We were all made greatly aware of the importance of being on our guard and how the information we provide can be used to our detriment.
For Rotarians the month of August is dedicated to new members and start- ups when we try to develop awareness of what Rotary is all about to encourage the participation of new members. So, if readers would like to have fun with a purpose, consider joining our club which holds its meeting at 6.30pm for 7.00pm on Monday evenings at the Blakedown and Churchill Golf Club. Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our 35,000+ clubs work together to:
- Promote peace
- Fight disease
- Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Save mothers and children
- Support education
- Grow local economies
