Current news from Hagley WI
Hurray! When you read this, we will actually be meeting again – following the Roadmap of course – and probably in groups of 6. We have our first monthly walk planned - quite gentle to start the season – and split into 6s if that is still the regulation. And we will be meeting in each other’s gardens for coffee, tea, socializing and cake of course.
One of our members gave a great craft demonstration on zoom making a bright Spring garland from upcycled materials. Now we have each made a lovely Easter decoration for our homes and we’re looking forward to our next craft afternoon.
We are starting to plan our monthly meetings to be ready for when regulations allow them and when we feel comfortable to meet. We also have to wait until national WI gives the OK and the Community Centre is open.Meanwhile members can play Walking Netball together, we have our social zoom meetings and keep in contact with everyone by phone, email and newsletters. The knitters are busy – baby clothes and blankets for the prem baby unit and the children’s ward at Russells Hall; and teddies, puppets, pullovers and hats for Teddies for Tragedies. And we collect food and toiletries for the local women’s refuge.
We look forward to meeting again – to find out more, please contact Mita Barnes on 01299 879996 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
