Current news from Walton District Guides and Brownies
There has been plenty of creative zoom sessions in all Girlguiding sections with Easter chocolate nests, scones and jumping clay mini me Brownies being created. We are grateful to all those parents and carers who have handed their kitchens over and hovered in the background as our young members have been super busy making some wonderful things and a little bit of mess. 2nd Hagley Guides took part in a very successful virtual camp with several of the Guides being awarded the first Bronze Awards of the new programme.
The girls were very grateful to the leaders for all their hard work and even secretly enjoyed the early Sunday morning breakfast activity. The virtual nature of the camp meant that the leaders had a much better night of sleep than on normal camp. However, we can’t wait to be back doing face to face Guiding and as I write units are busy preparing risk assessments and adapting activities to fit in with the new guidelines so that we can enjoy the summer term and get out and about. If you are looking to get involved in Girlguiding we are always looking for adult helpers please register your interest at www.girlguiding.org.uk and click “get involved”.
