The Village Notice Board

We’d  like  to  wish  a  happy  birthday  to  a very special lady who lives in our lovely village. Betty will be celebrating her 100th on  2nd  May.  Having  lived  in  the  area all  her  life  she  is  very  well  known  with many friends and acquaintances who she keeps  in  regular  contact  with.  She’s  led an  interesting  life  and  recently  provided information about her WW2 experiences to the WI. These included working on plans for  the  Stirling  Bombers,  volunteering for the WAAF and working as an air raid warden. She is still a very independent lady with a razor sharp mind and immaculate in  her  appearance.  Before  lockdown  she was a regular at local lunches and coffee mornings whilst also making good use of the community bus to get out and about – we hope she’ll soon be able to do this again. In the meantime there is no stopping Betty - she still takes a daily walk to the local shops to enjoy the exercise and fresh air.A  number  of  her  neighbours  were  hoping  to mark this milestone birthday for her, but this was very much dependant on how the latest lockdown evolved.

Here’s to you Betty -  have a jolly good one!
